RULES & SPECS

1. The HVHJA year will run  April 1st- October 20th.

2. Membership Fee: $40 before April 1, $50 regularly, $55 if received DAY OF SHOW.

3. Any horse show wanting to run HVHJA classes must submit an application at least 60 DAYS IN ADVANCE OF THE SHOW DATE and A COPY OF THE PRIZE LIST MUST BE SENT AS SOON AS AVAILABLE. 

4. It is required that specifications for the HVHJA Program be available the day of the show with the show secretary. 

5. If the results are not submitted within two (2) weeks of the competition, the show will be considered delinquent and found not in good standing with risk of results not counting. 

6. The HVHJA reserves the right to make final decisions relating to the interpretation and adjudication of the rules and specifications.

7. In order for horses and riders to accrue HVHJA points, the RIDER must be members as of the day of the horse show.  NO POINTS WILL BE RETROACTIVE. 

8. Three (3) entries are needed to consider a class official. 

9. HVHJA points will be awarded as follows:

Classes with two (2) entries will be awarded half points.

No extra points will be awarded for Champion or Reserve Champion.

Once points are posted, they will become final 30 days after posting on the website and no point disputes will be considered. It is the exhibitor’s responsibility to monitor the website for point corrections. 

10. The age of the rider will conform with the current USEF rule. 

11. Membership is effective when received by the HVHJA treasurer or horse show secretary. The horse show secretary MUST submit membership applications and dues with the show results. All memberships MUST be submitted on 2020 membership forms. 

12. Anyone found to have misrepresented themselves; i.e., the rider’s age, the rider’s competitive level, the horse’s size, etc., or any similar offense; will forfeit all points earned in that division. 

13. The HVHJA will only accept points from classes that are correctly named and run according to the HVHJA specifications. 

14. For HVHJA points to count, the class must be listed in the prize list, and cannot be added on the day of the horse show. 

15. There will be an awards presentation and dinner at the end of the award season. 

16. In the event of a tie for year-end points, Champion will be awarded to both riders/horses and therefore no Reserve Champion will be awarded.

17. Divisions must have a minimum of two (2) members, in good standing, with points to award year-end prizes. Divisions with only one member with year-end points will be combined with an appropriate division at the discretion of the HVHJA board.

18. Riders must have shown in a minimum of two (2) member shows, including one (1) away show (not at member's home barn) to qualify for Finals. Leadline need only have shown at one (1) member show.

​

19. The Top 15 riders in the standings for the HVHJA Medal will qualify for Finals.
