RICKY BOBBY SCHOLARSHIP
This year the HVHJA and The Poppinga Family are offering a special scholarship opportunity to a deserving member of the HVHJA. This scholarship will allow the chosen recipient to attend one away HVHJA member horse show. The scholarship fund will pay for coaching, shipping, use of horse, and entry fees!

Ricky Bobby was a very special pony who came into the Poppinga Family's needing a little extra weight, training, and all-around love. All four Poppinga family members immediately realized that Ricky Bobby had lots of talent and could teach his riders so much! His talent, however, came with a list of challenges. Ricky loved to challenge his riders but he was also quick to reward.

We are looking to award this scholarship to a rider who would have risen to the challenge of riding Ricky Bobby. A rider who can find the talent in the challenging and hard ponies. We want to hear about your most challenging horse or pony and how it changed your riding.

To apply for the Ricky Bobby Scholarship please write a short essay about a challenging equine and what you learned from that ride. Applicants must be current members of HVHJA and explain basis for financial need.

Applications due by April 15, 2022.
*Applicants may apply to both the HVHJA and the Ricky Bobby Scholarships but will only be awarded one.*
